Update 14 November 2013
John Fitzpatrick pleaded guilty at Sheffield Crown Court to 7 charges of theft and 2 charges of obtaining money transfers by deception representing £1,157,000 at a plea and case management hearing on 11 November 2013. Sentencing is listed for 17 December 2013 at Sheffield Crown Court.

A plea and case management hearing is now fixed for 11 November 2013 - John Fitzpatrick will attend Sheffield Crown Court.
The trial date listed for 11 November 2013 has been postponed, with a date to be advised.

John Fitzpatrick is a former solicitor who has been charged with 21 offences relating to investment and mortgage frauds and the misappropriation of client money. Mr Fitzpatrick was employed by TI Clough & Co solicitors in Bradford between February 2000 and September 2000, however he also operated as a solicitor under his own name from his home address. The alleged offences took place between 1996 and 2001. Mr Fitzpatrick was struck off the Roll of Solicitors on 8 March 2002.
The case against Mr Fitzpatrick is connected to the case against Noel Ward, Raymond Brown, Tracy Ryder, Ian Colphon and Andrew Young which was successfully prosecuted by the SFO with the assistance of South Yorkshire Police 4 November 2004.
Mr Fitzpatrick was extradited from South Africa 22 July 2013 when he appeared at Leeds Magistrates' Court. A plea and case management hearing is fixed 24 October 2013. The trial is currently listed for 11 November 2013 at Sheffield Crown Court.
