INVESTIGATION INTO PAYMENTS MADE BY THE ROYAL MINT

The Serious Fraud Office has commenced an investigation into irregular payments made by the Royal Mint

Following a referral on 26 June 2002 by HM Treasury to the Serious Fraud Office, concerning irregular payments made by the Royal Mint over the period 1996 to 1999, the Director of the SFO has now authorised an investigation into the matter. The investigation will be conducted in conjunction with the Ministry of Defence Police.
