SFO Director Robert Wardle on the occasion of the publication today of the OLAF Activity Report for 2006 commented:
"Economic crime is increasingly borderless and international cooperation in combating it is paramount. I would like to acknowledge the collaboration we receive from many parts of the world and particularly from our partners in Europe where good lines of mutual understanding have been established and are productive. We in turn are pleased that we can apply our expertise, powers and resources to assist other agencies and, in this respect, Europe represents over half of our global assistance in the past year.
A key feature of European collaboration in the fight against fraud is OLAF and I am pleased to acknowledge their efforts and the excellent communication established between our two organisations. I commend the publication of the OLAF annual report today and look forward to continuing to working together in common cause with OLAF and our other partners in Europe."
