The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) does not hold data centrally that distinguishes between the different types of provision of training through Civil Service Learning (CSL). Since 2018 e-learning delivery has been at no charge to departments. The vast majority of our external training costs are for the delivery of technical/professional operational training.

Subject area of course

The SFO does not hold this level of detail. Costs for 2019/20 were largely used to fund participants on the civil service wide Positive Action Pathway (PAP) and Future Leaders Scheme (FLS).

External training budget for 2020/21 fiscal year in the Serious Fraud Office, broken down by:

Budget to spend through the Civil Service Learning contract and budget to spend on the delivery of external training through other contracts

We have not set aside a specific sum for expenditure on CSL Training. The SFO spend for the coming year is likely to be limited to supporting staff on the PAP and FLS programmes.

Our total budget for 2020/21 is £395k.

Any analysis undertaken on how your department’s training needs have shifted this year compared to previous years

For example, are you planning greater emphasis on Leadership & Management courses or training delivered through digital/online courses?

No such analysis has been undertaken
