FOI 2019-135 – Professionalising Investigative Practice

?>

Date Answered: 31 October 2019

This request asked:
Are SFO Staff trained to conducted investigations using the Professionalising Investigative Practice (PIP) framework? If so how is this training conducted?

Our response:
The SFO train operational staff in conjunction with the College of Policing. The training provided is in-line with PIP standards and Approved Professional Practice (APP) as stipulated by the College of Policing.
Training is conducted in a number of ways, predominantly via face-to-face and online learning through a number of platforms. Learning continues by working alongside colleagues on investigations and prosecutions, and also through our mentoring scheme.
